Distress Marker sun rays

Hey everyone, Mayuri here!

Today I'm sharing the card that I've prepared for my monthly post here on the Neat & Tangled blog, and I've used one of my all time favourite stamps - the Sunburst. I have to say, this image is so versatile and I haven't even experimented with it anywhere near as much as I'd like to. Until now...

I began by colouring up each of the sun rays in various Distress Markers, in a sort of rainbow effect. I misted lightly with some water and stamped onto some white cardstock. I loved the result of the distressed look and that you could see some of the streakiness caused by the markers!

On a kraft card base, I drew a frame slightly bigger than the stamped panel and filled with Silver Wink of Stella - the glitter effect is really subtle but enough to stand out behind the foam mounted white cardstock.

I die-cut the large Geometric Rose by Clearly Besotted from some vellum and stuck down with some Glossy Accents before adding some white string and a sentiment from Mama Elephant's Confetti stamp set. There's also a healthy scattering of some Neat & Tangled sequins!

Thanks for stopping by!

  3. What a clever idea to color the stamp and activate the marker with water. Super idea. I like the sentiment and focal point of vellum. Beautiful job!
